***Spoiler alert***

I call shenanigans! No way that a$$ clown was over a full second faster than anyone to have set foot in the car!!! I don't care how many times he's been around the track in the Chevy City NASCAR prop. No friggin way. His line was all goofy-wumpus, he mis-shifted, and nearly flipped the car.

And what was up with half an hour of Ayrton Senna documentary. That was nice and all, but not the show's format, and well, seemed to me like they were just filling time because they spent all their money getting Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. With me?

i actually enjoyed the entire episode...

as far as tom and cameron's times.... there arent very many times on the board, i dont think it's too far fetched that someone was able to smash the current record. however, if those times prove to be untouchable, i'd believe they could have been fudged.

No. Ayrton senna is/was one of the greatest drivers to set foot in a car and many in the current generation don't even know who he is. The fact that they're finally honoring some of the people that brought motorsport to where it is shows that the show as a whole is finally getting back to its automotive roots and not just some robo-sploshion show with some high priced cars tossed in there for shits and giggles.

There is plenty of time for fire and blowing stuff up and dropping piano's on the world. This is one time where it was actually nice to see respect paid where it was due. Do you think for a second it was cheap to get Lewis Hamilton behind that car for track time compared to get cruise and diaz to come hock their movie? Doubt it.

The "New" top gear (season 15) isn't in 'murrikah yet. It's on the interwebz and is always on, iirc 20:00 GMT Sunday nights. It's usually a torrent by 7-8pm here.

I remember watching Ayrton Senna on F1 with my dad long ago. Back when there was no traction control, flappy paddle, cars and they had twin turbo beasts.

I bet it was in contract for cruise to come in first. Sad.

Diaz's lap looked MUCH faster... because it looked much slower.

I LOVED the senna portion. Hamilton was just blown away by driving that car. Really could feel the emotion. I loved that piece.

I don't remember him racing, but I did have an aryton senna racing game on my game gear. And it was awesome.
