Ok. B-series powered CR-V's. I have a few questions.

The AWD 5 speed boxes, how strong are they and did any have taller ratios than other boxes? I'm looking for the tallest possible ratios (lowest number numerically) that can be had.

Also, could you get a LSD for the front or rear diffs? Would a standard B series box LSD work for the front?

Any info you've got on it would be great. I'd rather not deal with the R or K series trannys of the newest CR-V's.

Much Thanks.

DON'T JUDGE ME.

I'm pretty sure the trans case just cracked and it's spurred me along to stop thinking about it and doing it.

Except I'm just going to modify the stock rear subframe and make my own trailing arms because a multilink rear suspension would be a PITA to put in an estate.

Why would you want a honda AWD tranny in a heavy ass car? Its used to handle 120hp, it won't handle much at all.

I'm pretty sure my car is lighter than yours is.

I'd be surprised if it cracked 1400lbs with full fluids. I still have a full alloy factory door and hood set for it as well when I really start shaving weight.

Thought this was for the mercedes, you might look at 88-91 civic wagon awd setups, lots are being used for awd setups.

What motors came in the 88-91 wagons? And more importantly what's the difference in boxes between the crv and the wagons?

Mercedes turbo motor for the datsun, Honda awd for the Mini. God I'm a masochist.

Try there,

Wagons came with single cam meaning you could upgrade to a z6 single cam vtec pretty cheap. The CRV would allow you to use the b-series motor.

Good site. Apparently the CRV box is a little bit stronger than the wagon 4wd box. Both are kinda hard to find, so that's what I'll be doing.

You doin a B20? Turbo? I take it because of the tall gear ratio?

Probably LS/Vtec to start. The car is already light as it is, but the extra stroke will be a welcome addition to motivate the back wheels on the bottom end.

I know I'll turbo it later, but for now just a simple NA build will be nice to get all the bugs worked out.

Now I just have to muster the cahones to chop off the front of a pristine MkI Estate shell.

Make sure to strengthen the rods on an LS/Vtec if you plan to rev it out later.

All over it. Biggest hurdle is going to be keeping the ass end in the thing
